Congratulations on your new Wisconsin
ENERGY STAR Home.  This exceptional home has been evaluated, built and tested to provide you with the means to better control your indoor environment.  Exercising this control can lead to many benefits, including the potential to enhance:

·    Indoor air quality
          Occupant comfort
          Moisture and odor management
     ·    Long term building durability

Benefits that affect you as well as your pocketbook for as long as you own your home.

By satisfying Wisconsin
ENERGY STAR Homes standards, your builder has done his/her part to protect your investment and provide you with a safe, comfortable, durable and energy efficient new home.

The following report provides specific information on your home.

BUILDING CERTIFICATION INFORMATION

Building Air-tightness: Wisconsin ENERGY STAR Homes are, on average, 37 percent tighter than a typically built new home in Wisconsin.  This is an important building characteristic--defining the quality of construction--and when combined with managed ventilation, potentially adding to your comfort, building durability and indoor air quality, as well as energy efficiency.

Based on the size of the home and program testing:

Your home satisfies program standards, exceeding nationally
accepted air tightness guides by 70% in terms of eliminating
unwanted air leakage into and out of  the home.

Building Ventilation: Every Wisconsin ENERGY STAR Home is tested to ensure adequate levels of ventilation capacity.  This tested ventilation capacity is essential in today’s tighter homes, providing you with the ability to manage moisture and general indoor air quality by controlling air movement into and out of the home.

The following equipment has been installed in your home to
provide overall/background ventilation: Air to Air Heat Exchanger,
          and Bathroom Fans.
     ·    This equipment meets program standards, exceeding nationally
accepted and proven guidelines for minimum ventilation capacity
          by 48%.
     ·    Operation of this equipment can effectively provide better control of
indoor relative humidity, the potential for window condensation, and
the overall indoor air environment through the periodic removal of
stale moisture and odor-laden indoor air.

Wisconsin
ENERGY STAR Homes goes beyond current building code by requiring ventilation capacity in all areas of the home where moisture and odors are produced.  These areas include the kitchen--often overlooked as a source of moisture--and all bathrooms.

·    The equipment installed in your home meets program standards for
spot/source moisture control, exceeding nationally accepted and
proven guidelines for minimum ventilation capacity.
     ·    Operation of this equipment can effectively control moisture and
odor migration and/or the build-up of other potential pollutants
produced when using the bathroom or kitchen appliances.

Building Efficiency: Wisconsin ENERGY STAR Homes are, on average, ten percent more efficient in terms of heating than similar sized new homes built in Wisconsin.  This is significant considering Wisconsin’s tough building code, and the fact that our savings have been verified through actual billing data and field studies.

Based on the size of the home and program testing:

·    Your home has an estimated Heating Energy Intensity of 1.04
     ·    Your home’s index places it in the 5th percentile of all homes built in
Wisconsin in terms of its' energy efficiency.
     ·    This allows you, your builder, and/or potential homebuyers to more
accurately compare your home to other homes in Wisconsin,
should you ever decide to sell.
